QuickBooks Desktop data can be imported into Brass Jacks Bookkeeper using our QBImporter tool and a paid version of QODBC (currently priced at $149).

At this time, we don’t offer a trial version of Brass Jacks Bookkeeper.

What kind of support will be available?
We’re bookkeepers ourselves, so we know how frustrating it is to feel left on your own with software questions. Every Brass Jacks Bookkeeper license includes email support from our team and access to a library of setup guides and tutorials.
For more complex questions, we’ll offer paid support sessions and updates to ensure the software continues to serve bookkeepers well.
Does the software need to be installed locally, or can it be hosted in the cloud?
Brass Jacks Bookkeeper is desktop-based software designed to give you full control of your data. You can install it on your local machine. If you are sharing data with a client, you will need to send them a backup of the file.
You’ll always own your data, no one else can alter, view, or lock you out of it.
Can I have multiple businesses?
Yes! Brass Jacks Bookkeeper supports up to 6 companies with one license.
What operating systems does it work with?
Brass Jacks Bookkeeper works with Windows software.
Will there be future updates?
Yes! We’re committed to improving Brass Jacks Bookkeeper based on feedback from real users. Updates that fix bugs or improve stability will always be included.
Does this software do Job Costing?
This answer is two-fold.
Brass Jacks Bookkeeper software DOES do job costing, but we do not recommend it for construction business who are doing over $1 Million in revenue. If you are a small contractor however, this would be an excellent option for you.

Can I import my QuickBooks data into BJB software?
QuickBooks Desktop databases can be imported into Brass Jacks Bookkeeper using our QBImporter tool and a paid version of QODBC (which is currently priced at $149).
There are some limitation as to what can be imported so you want to review the data afterwards and be comfortable adding journal entries for any data that is missing. For more information on importing data from QuickBooks Desktop products, see this FAQ page.
